Minimalist

Posted By Snow at 5/24/2014

Sometimes I wonder how the home of Prophet Muhammad was.
I can't imagine it being daif (weak). I'd imagine it more towards minimalist.
A simple, clean & classy home. ماشاء الله

A minimalist living room can still be beautiful.
Imagine the cushions, carpet, white plain curtain. Add a potted tree & perfume.
Just without the TV furniture... It'll be calm & cosy. سبحان الله

Prophet Muhammad was a merchant, & he was very good in business with very good profits. & he married the Princess of Quraysh - a very rich business woman herself, one of a kind in her time. Even the Prophet's companions were good merchants as well. So I can't quite imagine him living in a "weak, poor" state. I do believe he lives minimally, still, being minimal doesn't mean impoverished. It can be a classy living.I actually love living minimally as well, it's simple & easier to manage. يحبون أن يتطهروا [Q9:108]

Less can be classy
The secret is neat . clean . illuminated

If we may, imagine someone like Reem Al Hashemi living in the house. She only has 3 pairs of beautiful abaya that she cares very well for her dresses. She cooks a feast for many people, it saves more than cooking for one. She lives a shared life with others, while she herself lives minimally - but is still very classy in her ways.

And when she trades business & made profit, you trust she will give out most of it for the benefit of the society - & it circles around to all level of society. You even trust that if you giver her money, she will channel it to the ones who need it. She is simply not in need to be luxurious, as this life is only a place to do good deeds as much as possible. ♥ الحمد لله

May the king's standard flies again.

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "If I had gold equal to the mountain of Uhud, I would love that, before three days had passed, not a single Dinar thereof remained with me if I found somebody to accept it excluding some amount that I would keep for the payment of my debts." [Sahih Bukhari Vol 9 book 90 Hadith 334]

Abu Huraira reported that Hasan bin Ali took one of The dates of the sadaqa and put it in his mouth, whereupon the Prophet (ﷺ) said: Leave it, leave it, throw it. Don't you know that we do not eat the sadaqa?" [Sahih Muslim Book 5 Hadith 2339]

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "The reciting of the Zabur (Psalms) was made easy for David (ﷺ). He used to order that his riding animals be saddled, and would finish reciting the Zabur before they were saddled. And he would never eat except from the earnings of his manual work." [Sahih Bukhari, Vol. 4 Book 55 Hadith 628]

Narrated Al-Miqdam: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Nobody has ever eaten a better meal than that which one has earned by working with one's own hands. The Prophet of Allah, David (ﷺ) used to eat from the earnings of his manual labor." [Sahih Bukhari, Vol 3, Book 34, Hadith 286]
